T&B and ABB Products Selected in Two Product of the Year Competitions

MEMPHIS, Tenn., May 8, 2015 – Two trade publications, Electrical Construction & Maintenance (EC&M) and Consulting-Specifying Engineer (C-SE), selected products from both Thomas & Betts (T&B) and ABB catalogs as finalists in their 2015 Product of the Year competitions.

EC&M selected the Quick-Connect™ Liquidtight Fitting for the “Fittings: Conduit & Cable” category winner, while C-SE selected the Non-Metallic Expansion/Deflection Coupling as a finalist in its competition. Both products are offered under the T&B® Fittings brand.

Additionally, C-SE also selected ABB's CMS Sensor Portfolio, Emax 2 circuit breaker and Heavy-Duty Safety Switch as finalists.

The Quick-Connect™ Liquidtight fitting was selected as a 2015 EC&M Product of the Year Category Winner, in the "Fittings: Conduit & Cable" category. Of 199 entries, there were 42 category winners that are now eligible for the 2015 Product of the Year Platinum, Gold and Silver awards. The award winners will be determined by an online readers' poll to be announced in the August 2015 issue of EC&M. All 199 entries will be featured in supplements to the April issue of EC&M and the May issue of Electrical Wholesaling, both Penton publications.

EC&M (circulation 129,766) is targeted to electrical professionals in contracting companies, industrial plants, commercial and institutional facilities, and engineering firms.

The Non-Metallic Expansion/Deflection Coupling was selected as a finalist in the 2015 C-SE Product of the Year competition. It improves safety and reduces installation time for joining rigid polyvinylchloride (PVC) conduit that is subject to movement in any direction at structural joints. Its design makes installation up to five times faster, while its versatility enables a five-to-one reduction in stock keeping units (SKUs). The T&B® Fittings Non-Metallic Expansion/Deflection Coupling is manufactured in the United States.

In addition to the Non-Metallic Expansion/Deflection Coupling, ABB’s CMS Sensor Portfolio, Emax 2 circuit breaker and the Heavy-Duty Safety Switch also were selected as finalists in the 2015 C-SE Product of the Year competition. A formal announcement of all finalists was made on April 6 via the links, and The finalists also appear in the printed April 2015 issue of C-SE, to be mailed mid-April, and in the digital edition, which will be available by the end of April at
